Trusting

What does it really mean to trust God with everything?

Something that I have been noticing as a trend since we were working in Athens is a lot of fear, and mistrust among believers. God even revealed and delivered me from mistrust in my heart that was cutting me off from operating in my gifts and worshiping Him. But this lack of faith in the power of God and the Holy Spirit and fear that God won't move has been running amok around our path.

“Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide; for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” - Acts 4:19-20

Some of the greatest miracles in biblical history were facilitated through prophets and apostles with great faith in the power of God. Since we have been over seas, three or four times we have been discouraged from ministering in public and praying for healing by other believers. I don't say this to be divisive or condemning, but because it is a real issue that we have encountered. Some of the most amazing encounters we have had have been from sharing our faith boldly with others and praying for healing in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, and we will continue to do both those things in seeking the expansion of the kingdom of Heaven.

If you have been struggling with whether to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit and the name of Jesus, remember that we are declared more than conquerors for the kingdom (Romans 8:37)  through Jesus's name, and that if you have submitted yourself to Christ that through the Holy Spirit you should pray with the power and authority of the name of Jesus Christ for the glory of His name. He tells us that anything that we ask of Him in His name for the glory of the Father He will do.

So do not be afraid to witness to your co-worker about the power and awesomeness of Christ, and do not be afraid to pray for healing for your family members and people in public but do all these things with the intention in your hearts that God will be worshiped and glorified through them. Remember to lean on Him and not your own understanding in these moments and listen to Him through prayer and scripture.

One last thing - the apostles boldly shared their faith (openly and in public, no matter the circumstance). If you are on fire and you are feeling the pull to share your faith, tell it fully with pride and boldness! We have gotten into a habit of trying to find roundabout ways of telling people about our King that aren't awkward or intrusive - but I am telling you right now that if you share boldly with passion and in truth that God will not forsake you and His name will not be put to shame - in the workplace, on the street, or in homes. Some passages that exemplify this are: 1 Corinthians 1:26-2:5, Acts 17:16-34, Acts 8:26-40.

Do not let your fear stop your from being an ambassador of the kingdom! Read Acts 4:13-22 and be an ambassador for you have been given the strength and authority through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus the Nazarene.
